History

The Singapore Tenpin Bowling Congress (STBC) was constituted in 1963 at a time when the sport of Tenpin Bowling was strictly for the recreational past-time of a privileged few.

In 2005, the Singapore Tenpin Bowling Congress formerly changed its name to the Singapore Bowling Federation (SingaporeBowling) (SBF), the Constitution was amended and a new logo formed.

Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF) or informally known as SingaporeBowling is the National Sports Association for the Sport of Tenpin Bowling. The Federation is affiliated to International Bowling Federation (IBF) and Asian Bowling Federation (ABF). SBF is also affiliated to Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and supported by Sport Singapore (SportSG).

Singapore Bowling Federation is a Registered Society with the Registry of Societies (ROS) since 10th February 1966 (ROS 50/63 SPO), registered Charity since 1st February 2011 and Institution of a Public Character (IPC) since 2007. All registered charities enjoy automatic income tax exemption.

SBF Logo

On 22 Jan 2024, our new logo was approved by the Registry of Societies. On 8 April 2024, Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF) launched its new branding and logo at the SBF Awards Night with Minister Edwin Tong as Guest of Honour.

A bowling pin and ball are the main elements in the logomark, symbolising how the sport is at the heart of all we do.

The tail of the ‘S’ is stylised with three trails that represent our three main stakeholder groups: athletes and parents; academies and coaches; as well as clubs and social bowlers. Together, we grow the sport to create a bigger impact competitively and in our community.

Red symbolises our passion for bowling, as well as our national pride and role in bringing Singaporeans together. The logo is inclined to the right to signify progress and professionalism.

Unifying
We will instill pride in our athletes to see their journeys as aspirations for Singaporeans
young and old, and, through this, to unify Singaporeans in taking pride in the achievements,
struggles, and joys of our athletes.

Collaborative
We see our stakeholders as partners and work alongside them to strengthen
our bowling ecosystem across all levels, from casual to elite.

World-Class
Our athletes are not just at the top of their game, but at the top of the world’s game.
Supporting them and innovating the infrastructure for their performance
remains at the core of what we do.
