📣***ANNOUNCEMENTS on 52nd Singapore International Open 2020 & Local Tournaments***📣

1️⃣ Cancellation of 52nd Singapore International Open 2020

While the local community spread of Covid-19 has been under control, the imported cases of Covid-19 has increased. Many countries have also resorted to more drastic measures to stem the spread of Covid-19 and this includes closing its borders and going into Lockdown. Hence, it is with great regret that Singapore Bowling Federation has decided to cancel the 52nd Singapore Internationals Open Tournament this year (originally scheduled for 23 May – 6 June 2020). This is in the best interest for all our local & overseas bowlers given the restrictions and uncertainties during this period. Should all be well, we hope to see you at Singapore International Open in 2021!

2️⃣ Local Tournaments (Up to June 2020)
We have received many enquiries regarding our local tournament plans and we would like to share that we are planning to hold the following two tournaments during the June School Holiday period:
▪️Trios Bakers Challenge (30 May – 7 June 2020, actual schedule to be confirmed mid April 2020) and this event will have multiple divisions, open to all.
▪️National Age Group Championships (12 – 20 June 2020) for ages U21 and below. The schedule may differ from past editions in order to reduce cross contact among participants during the tournament.

Do note that registration for the above two events will open mid-April (if allowed to proceed). Stringent control measures will be implemented to ensure that the event can be carried out as safely as possible in accordance to the latest government advisories & control measures for Covid-19. Apart from the usual temperature screening & Travel/Health declarations, the additional measures could include:
🔺Compulsory hand sanitization before entering bowling centre
🔺More buffer lanes to enhance distancing
🔺Adjusted competition scheduling to minimise cross contact
🔺Empowering officials to stop anyone from participating when they display any of the Covid-19 symptoms

We will share more on these control measures when we publish the tournament information once it is finalised. In the event if there is a need to cancel or further postpone the tournament(s), we will advise accordingly and provide refunds (for cancellation of tournament).

The situation regarding the spread of the Covid19 and corresponding advisories and control measures is uncertain and can change quickly. We will continue to monitor it closely before deciding on whether to proceed with our planned events.

In the meantime, please be patient with us and look out for updates on our Facebook and website for more information.

Feel free to contact us at if you need clarifications.

Thank you and stay safe!🙏🏻
