Youngsters steal limelight in second leg

1st September, Singapore: The second leg of the National Youth Development Program – Milo-SBF Centre of Excellence Circuit 2008 resumed at Westwood Bowl at Civil Service Club (Bukit Batok) on 17 August 2008, Sunday.

Sixteen-year-old Chow Wong Chong recorded lines of 197, 217, 176 and ended off with a brilliant game of 248 for a total of 838 and 209.5 average. Kristel Oh came in second with lines of 218, 175, 185 and 197 for a total of 775 pinfalls.

Marc Wee Ming Lei, who was runner-up in the first leg, could only manage a third place finish this time round bowling lines of 212, 177, 206 and 197 for a 772 total after deduction of 20 pins. In the 14 & Under category, it was the girls who stole the limelight. Siti Nabilah Binte Zainal, who was third after the third game, bowled 181, 171, 163 and 196 for a 182.75 average plus handicap to snatch the top spot.

Thirteen-year-old Ong Jenn finished a creditable second with a 179 average while the top male finisher was Leon Lee who bowled a 177.5 average.

Leon Lee Longxiang took third spot with 710 ahead of Bryan Lau Wee Kiat and Royvin Ho Chien Jing rounded up the top five.

The third leg of the circuit will take place at Orchid Bowl @ SAFRA Tampines on 7th September 2008, Sunday.
