Unwell Singaporean soldiers on

3rd May, Jakarta: Singapore's Jazreel Tan, who is unwell and down with a fever, soldiered on in the second block of the 8th World Ranking Masters 2008 at Senayan Sportainment Bowling Centre and continuing to make little impact in her debut.  Debuting in her first World Ranking Masters, Jazreel Tan, who is unwell and down with a fever, put in a brave and creditable effort to knock down 1466 in the second block of 8 games and dropped one spot down to 17th position.

Taking plenty of rest on the advise of the doctor, the newly-crowned Malaysian International Open champion soldiered on to post 197, 197, 187, 132, 197, 203, 179 and 174 for a total of 1466, slightly lower than the first block.

Finland's Krista Pollanen snatched top spot in Squad B with a score of 1597 from Hong Kong's Vaneesa Fung, who was leading for sixth games. Fung downed 1588 and settled for second while Singapore Open champion, Zatil Iman clinched third spot with 1558.

Local favourite, Tannya Roumimper remained in pole position after two squads on 3231, 62 pins in front of Malaysia's Shalin Zulkifli. Krista Pollanen improved from 10th position overnight to third with 3151 with England's Kirsten Penny dropping to fourth on 3132.

Meanwhile, Qatar's Mubarak Al-Muraikhi led an Asian domination to take up the top 4 spots in the men's division after two blocks with a total of 3399. UAE's Hussain Al-Suwaidi took second spot with 3364.

Local title contender, Ryan Lalisang made a superb recovery from a poor eighth to finish second in Squad B and third overall. The women will resume with their third and final block earlier tomorrow at 9.00am. The men will commence their second block in the afternoon.
