Singaporean third in the table

29th October, Kaoshiung: Singapore's top contender, Remy Ong impressed in the on-going 10th Chinese Taipei International Open with a third place in the Men's Open Masters qualifying table on Wednesday. Ong shot 918 and an average of 229.50 to head Singapore challenge in the championship behind leader, Muhd Nur Aiman of Malaysia newly-crowned Guam Open champion, Wu Siu Hong in second.

Youngster, Gregory Gan also did well to take up 9th in the overseas table with a 860 scoreline followed by Shaun Ng in 11th with 796 and Eugene Low in 13th with 792. In the local pool, Li Yung-Nien of Chinese Taipei topped the table with 925.

Overnight leader, Huang Cheng-Hsiung dropped to second with 905 while 2006 Chinese Taipei Open champion, Ku Ching-Ho rounded up the top 3 with 904. The top 38 Men's Open with defending champion, Zulmazran Zulkifli of Malaysia will contest the first block finals on November 1st.   Meanwhile, Jazreel Tan was the best Singapore women qualifier so far taking up 11th in the overseas pool with 834. Teo Li Ying (819), Shayna Ng (816), Fok Ka Wai (794) and Jennifer Tan (781) occupied first, third, sixth and ninth in the mixed pool.

Malaysia's Siti Safiyah Amirah topped both the overseas and overall Ladies' Open Masters qualifying table with an impressive 914 total. This year's Singapore Open runnerup, Zandra Aziela finished behind her team-mate with 882.

Current Asian Ranked No. 1 and newly-crowned Guam Open champion, Chan Shuk Han and her compatriot, Vanessa Fung took third and fourth positions with 868 and 864 respectively. Lin Yi-Fan took over the lead in the local pool with 897.   The top 32 Ladies' Open with defending champion, Sharon Koh of Malaysia will contest the first block finals on November 1st and second block on November 2nd. The top 6 finishers from each division will advance into the stepladder finals.
