Singapore youngster secures Masters finals spot

10th April, Bangkok: Singapore's Eugene Low secured his spot in the Men's Open Masters finals of the on-going 34th MWA Thailand International Open after finishing fifth in the overseas pool at S.F. Strike Bowl.  Eugene Low of Singapore, who posted 655 and 614 in his two earlier attempts, put up a sizzling 721 series to give himself an aggregate of 1990 and moved up to fifth spot in the Men's Open Masters overseas pool.

Singapore's top bowler, Remy Ong managed 622, 651 and 632 for a 9-game total of 1945 which put him in ninth position in the same pool. Australia's Andrew Frawley maintained pole position with 2068 ahead of Malaysia's Adrian Ang and UAE's Hussain Al-Suwaidi second and third with 2029 and 2021.

Canon Cup runnerup, Jason Yeong-Nathan amassed a total of 1915 to take up top spot in the mixed pool followed by Ng Chiew Pin, Willie Quek and Gregory Gan in fifth, ninth and 10th positions respectively.

China's Yang Suling and Wu Suqin continued to dominate the overall standings with 1925 and 1898 to occupy the top 2 positions ahead of Malaysia's Shalin Zulkifli, who aggregated 1881 for third spot.

Meanwhile, in the Youth Under-15 division, Singapore youths completely dominated the table by occupying 7 of the 10 final spots. Oriana Tay Ling Ying led with 1783 with Tay Kun Long second and Muhammad Jaris Goh third to take up the top 3 spots.

Calista Tan Li Xuan, Keith Saw Hui-Xun, Oehler Michaela Rouyi and Tan Yan Ling finished sixth and eighth to tenth positions.
