Bowlers in the SingaporeBowling National Programme who are present students and alumni came together last night to celebrate the Singapore Sports School Awards Night 2017.


Among the awardees were Amabel Chua who due to her exploits during the World Bowling Youth Championships that led her winning a silver medal, amongst other achievements, was honoured with the Moo Soon Chong Student-Athlete of the Year award.


Aidan Poh was named the Best Performer (Bowling) 2016 for coming in 2nd at the Taipei Youth Open and Singapore Sports School Opulent Championship. His team also came in first at the National Schools B Division.


Alumnus New Hui Fen had an outstanding 2016 with a silver medal at the World Singles Championship. She is also the champion of the Smithfield PWBA Tour Championship that helped her to win the PWBA Rookie of the Year accolade and was honoured with the Outstanding Sports Achievement Award (Alumni).

Fellow team mate Bernice Lim had a year that was not to be sniffed at either. She won the USBC Queens tournament, the only PWBA tournament that she participated in last year. She had stellar results at the Bowling World Cup, coming in 3rd after leading most of the qualifying rounds. And for that, she was awarded the Outstanding Sports Achievement Award (Alumni).
