Remy Ong wins San Marino Open
The Singaporean reached the finals by eliminating German Jens Nickel, 478-367 in the Round 5 semi-finals to earn a crack at the title while Gross ousted American, Pete Weber, 438-359 in the other semi before going down to the Singaporean.
The champion chalked up a 4-game total of 893 to finish fourth in Round 2 behind topseed, Andersson followed by Torgersen in second and Raymond Jansson of Sweden third. He had earlier shot 899 in Round 1 finals to advance into the next round.
Zara Glover of England, bowling with a 32-pin handicap, finished in the lead with 910. Vittorio Vaglia of Italy and Gianluca Badiali took second and third spot ahead of Ong with 925 and 901 respectively.
Gross settled for second to earn 6,000 Euro with Pete Weber and Jens Nickel taking home 3,500 Euro each.
