Loyang Way Food Village wins Round 1
4th February, Singapore: Team Loyang Way Food Village led from start to finish to win the Canon SuperSeries 2 Round One ahead of Team Sea Rider 1 in second and Team BNP Paribas third at SuperBowl SAFRA Mount Faber.
Team Loyang Way Food Village comprising of Broncson Tan, Cedric Goh and anchored by Paiman Dali got to a cracking start with 672 in their opening game but was only 4 pins ahead of Team Sea Rider 1.
A poor game from Team Sea Rider 1 of 527 in the second game allowed the leader to remain in front with another superb 628 second game and stretching their lead to 105 pins. Team Loyang Way Food Village then knocked down a record-breaking 731 to cruise to a comfortable victory with 2031.
Broncson Tan posted the highest 3-game series of 731 to Cecric Goh’s 611 and Paiman Dali’s 689 to take home a prize of S$2,000. Soh Meng Tang, Roger Koh Kwang Hui and Sim Tian Heng totaled 1786 to settle for S$1,000.
Emmanuel M Zoleta, Lee Teck Seng and Tham Wei Han of Team BNP Paribas amassed a team total of 1771 to finish third and won S$800 for their effort. Team Syntech 1 and Team Bronix rounded up the top 5 with 1757 and 1754 respectively.
A total of 28 teams took part in the Canon SuperSeries 2 which kicked off on February 4, 2010. Representative from Canon Singapore was on hand to present prizes to the winners up to 16 position.
