Favourites capture masters titles
With all the cheering from the college supporters and the intense competition during the 8-games masters finals, it was clear that the champions were simply in great form while the rest were only battling for the runners up spots.
Ex-international, Valerie Teo posted eight consistent games of 200, 211, 203, 203, 200, 203, 201 and 213 to a convincing victory. With a handicap of 80 pins, the champion amassed a total of 1714, 107 pins ahead of her nearest rival.
Team-mate, Glenda Quek took the first runner-up spot with 1607 while Danica Toh of Team Republic 1 finished third with 1555. Toh’s team-mate Clara Lim and Team Republic 2’s Eileen Lim rounded up the top 5.
Benjamin Hong of Unix finished a distant second, 104 pins adrift with 1701. Ong Song Keith of Team SMU took third spot with 1676 while Calvin Goh of Team Temasek 1 and Gary Tham of NUS Team 1 made up the top 5.
Team Temasek walked away with a special award for winning the league title for the fourth consecutive year with NUS Team 1 and NTU claiming second and third positions respectively. NUS Team 1 claimed the Team High Series Award with 2728 and Lian Haojie took the Most Improved Bowler Award.
