An afternoon of fun and enjoyment

23rd April, Singapore: SingaporeBowling organized its annual carnival and BOWLinks Bi-Monthly Bowling Challenge for more than 45 bowlers from the various special needs associations and schools at the NSRCC Bowling Center.

Participants from the Special Olympics Singapore, Delta Senior School, Singapore Association for Mental Health and APSN Katong School enjoyed fun fringe activites before the fun bowling competition.

Participants of all ages, young and old, came with their families, friends and teachers as early as 12 noon to enjoy the various fringe activities such as face painting and badge making organized by SingaporeBowling. Some of these schools and associations also raised funds during the event by selling some of their handicraft and snack items.

“Apart from the fun element in the Carnival which is the first time I’m participating, there is this excitement on the lanes where we bowl and have a friendly match against other participants,” said a participant from the NUH Singapore Transplant Game.“It’s good to see more participants like me on the wheelchairs here and enjoying bowling and I look forward to the next event.”

Due to overwhelming response at this Bi-Monthly Bowling Challenge, SingaporeBowling had to limit the participation from each beneficiary organization to provide opportunities for more organizations to enjoy this event.

“I’m happy to be here to help these participants as a way of contributing back to the society. It’s heartening to see them enjoy bowling and some of them can really bowl well,” added national youth bowler, Danish Ramlan.

“Although I also participate in other community projects as part of my curriculum, I’m happy to be involved in BOWLinks initiated by SingaporeBowling.”

Participants during today’s BOWLinks Bi-Monthly Bowling Challenge also received a souvenir lunch box sponsored by Incorporated Builders Group. Besides the various activities organized during the carnival, participants also enjoyed ice-cream and other delicious snacks courtesy of SingaporeBowling.

The top 4 bowlers – Loh Choon Tan, Tan Chan Wing, Diane Neo and Muhd Farhan in this month’s BOWLinks Bi-Monthly Bowling Challenge, will also represent SingaporeBowling in the BADS Charity Bowl organize by the Bowling Association for the Disabled (Singapore) in Singapore Island Country Club on May 28, 2011.

Team SRC Deaf, Special Olympics Bowling Team 2 and Team 1 from the Bowling Association for the Disabled (Singapore) came in top 3 for today’s BOWLinks Bi-Monthly Challenge.
