7th SSS-Opulent International Bowling Championships
On behalf of the Singapore Sports School (SSP), we take great pleasure in inviting officials, youth bowlers, parents and supporters from the world global bowling community to Singapore for the seventh edition of the Singapore Sports School – Opulent International Bowling Championship 2013 to be held from 21 to 28 June 2013.
This international championship, sanctioned by the World Tenpin Bowling Federation (WTBA), Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) and the Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF), will have both Under 14 and Under 18 divisions and will be bowled on the multi-surface bowling centre of the Singapore Sports School.
Besides the unique feature of bowling on traditional wood lanes, Brunswick Anvilane synthetics and AMF SPL synthetics, competitors will be further challenged by having three different conditions to tackle during their qualifying rounds. These patterns shall vary in pattern shape, length, density and symmetry.
For the Masters’ Finals, we expect an even more exciting climax with the introduction of a double-elimination style format from Round 2 onwards.
For the first time in event history, we will be featuring the Kustodian ION by Kegel as well as Kegel Lane Maintenance products and procedures to clean and condition our lanes throughout the duration of the championship.
For our international guests, we would like to introduce you to the unique concept of living on campus by staying in our Official Accommodation, the Singapore Sports School Boarding House.
The air-conditioned dormitory rate is S$91/-nett per person per night inclusive of taxes. This rate includes breakfast, lunch and dinner in the SSP Dining Hall and the use of facilities (subject to availability).
However, do note that as there are two other events concurrently running in school during the June School Holidays, we do advise that you submit your accommodation requirements as soon as you can.
For the championship, there is a maximum cap of 72 entries for Under 14 division and 90 entries for Under 18 division. Priority will be given to overseas bowlers and the deadline for registration is on 10 May 2013. Thereafter, vacancies will be opened up to bowlers from the Singapore Sports School and selected local bowlers.
