Third Collegiate Bowler of the Year
17th April, Lincoln, Nebraska: Singapore national bowler, Jazreel Tan was awarded Collegiate Bowler of the Year for the third consecutive year by the Bowling Writers Association of America.
Tan, who is not only consistent on the lanes, but off as well with a string of accolades over the years while persuing her degree in sports management at the Wichita State University.
The Singaporean was awarded the Female Collegiate Bowler of the year 2012 by the Bowling Writers Association of America at the Night of Champions banquet on Wednesday 17th April held in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Tan, who will graduate next month closed out her collegiate career by earning a spot as a first-team All American for the fourth consecutive year becoming just the second woman to achieve the feat after Vicki Parker of Indiana State who was a four-time first-team All-American from 1983-1986.
“I feel very honoured to be recognized in a country that is not my own and for three years in a row, that is awesome,” said Tan after receiving her award.
“But without my teammates and coaches behind me, I would not have been able to do that and it would not mean anything without anybody behind me. So I am thankful for my team and the important thing is not the individual award, but it is the team event that start tomorrow and hopefully that goes well.”
