Six out of eight in the finals

23rd September, Manila: Singapore has six out of eight national bowlers who have secured their places in tomorrow's Stage 1 finals of the 7th Euro-Med Storm International Masters Challenge on the final day of qualifying.  Lee Yu Wen, who was 51st yesterday with 1339, may have earned one of the top 3 automatic qualifying spots after finishing secon on the Day 5 rounds on 1386 with two more squads to play. Even if Lee is knocked out of the top 3, his two best series of 744 and 688 for a total of 1438 put him as the best Singaporean qualifier.

The southpaw took up 26th position overall ahead of Mark Wong in 27th with 1429 followed by AYG Masters gold medalist, Basil Low in 28th with 1423. Remy Ong tied 31st position with Indonesia's Ryan Lalisang on 1417.

Jason Yeong-Nathan also assured his spot in the finals with 1415 and taking up 35th overall while Benjamin Lim was the sixth Singaporean qualifier in 46th position, just two spots off the drop zone.

 

The only two yet to make the finals were Lionel Lim in 61st position on 1326 total and Eugene Low in 65th position with 1310. There are two more squads, 8.00pm and 10.00pm for the duo to try an make improvements.

Meanwhile, Michael Mak, Cyrus Cheung and Eric Tseng, all from Hong Kong are the Day 1 top 3 finishers. Sammy Sy of MTBC-Henrich, Phiriyahbhoon P. and Annop Arromsaranon, both from Storm-Thailand are the next 3 finishers.

American PBA Tom Smallwood, Mike Wolfe and England's Stuart Williams took the top 3 spots on Day 3 while another PBA pro, Lonnie Waliczek, Syafiq Ridhwan and Korea's Cha Mi Jung were the top 3 qualifiers on Day 4.
