Juniors triumph in Novice Bowling Challenge

20th September, Singapore: A high game of 224 gave Isaac Ng Kin Meng of SVPS the victory in the Masters finals of the Boy’s Junior division at the concluding Novice Bowling Challenge 2008 for Primary on Saturday evening.

Ten finalists took to the lanes to contest the Masters finals of the Boy’s Junior Primary division over 8 games. Quek Ming Hao of Bowler Strike set the early pace but was soon overtaken by Isaac Ng after he shot 164 and 180 in his two opening games.

But two lower games of 134 and 130 saw Ng’s lead handed to Md Eirfan Dayne of SAPS 3 and trailing by 22 pins at the halfway mark. Ng fought back with 168 in the fifth game to regain the lead and with a high game of 224 in the sixth, the youngster had built up a comfortable cushion.

Despite a low game of 116, Ng hung on to clinch the title with 1280. Md Eirfan settled for second with 1276 while Ethan Tan Yew Chun stormed home with two good games of 174 and 179 to snatch third spot.Meanwhile, the second highest game shot in the finals came from Marcus Seah of Strike Senior B T1. Seah had two games over the 200-mark. A 201 in the third and the high game of 223 in the fourth.

Seah’s total of 1392 brought him vitory in the Boy’s Senior division finishing 22 pins ahead of Tan Jun Kai, who claimed second with 1370 and Marcus Loh third with 1305.

Amanda Lee of Strike A J G T1 captured the Girl’s Junior title with a total of 1255. Lee finished 25 pins ahead of Rachel Chan of Agape Bowling A T11, who took second place with 1220. Chelsea Chan finished third with 1205.
Jeoy Yeo of Strike Senior G T1 bagged the Girl’s Senior crown with an impressive 1273 total. Charmaine Lim of Agape Bowling A T10 settled for second with 1249 while Daphne Oh Xin Yi clinched third spot with 1202.
