Center of Excellence for Bowling 2012

 

SingaporeBowling is looking out for promising athletes to be part of our National Youth Development Program - COE program for 2012.

1.     General Information

o    SingaporeBowling is looking out for promising athletes to be part of our National Youth Development Program - COE program for 2012.

o    The program is made up of 3 curriculums (A, AA, AAA).

o    The “A” program curriculum content will include finishing position, footwork, 5-step approach, stance posture, ball placement components, timing mechanism, and spare releases.

o    The “AA” program curriculum will include swing mechanics, swing hand positions, use of non-bowling arm, strike release technique, weight transfer components, and trailing leg technique.

o    The “AAA” program curriculum will include stance variations, axis rotations, speed change techniques, aiming systems, pin carry, lane movement, and spare systems.

o    The A, AA, AAA program will be the feeder system into the National Developmental squad, which will follow through to the National squad (Comprises of Bowlers representing Singapore in Regional and International competitions).

 

2.     Eligibility

o    The COE selection is open to Singapore Citizens only.

o    Must be at least 11 years old (Born in year 1991 - 2001).

3.     Training information

o    Training fee cost will be finalised soon.

o    36 weeks training program - 2 training sessions per week.

o    Each training session - 2 hours.

o    Training class for year 2012 will commence in mid January.

4.     Selection

o    Bowlers will be required to bowl for the duration of 2 hours.

o    Scores will not be taken into consideration during selection.

o    Selection will be done by a panel of coaches based on the skill and potential of all athletes.
