Another solid performance

3rd December, Johannesburg: Cherie Tan of Singapore put in another solid performance at the 47th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup after the third round of qualifying to finish third in the overall standings on Saturday.  Cherie Tan, who was second after the second block, bowled consistently throughout her third block with 236, 239, 206, 214 and 232 for a series of 1127. Despite slightly lower than her two earlier blocks, the Singapore was able to finish in the top 3.

Overnight leader, Aumi Guerra of Dominican Republic put in another astonishing performance by posting a record-breaking series of 1304 for a 15-game aggregate of to extend her lead to a massive 299 pins.

2006 World Cup champion, Diandra Asbaty of United States finished stronger than Tan to snatch second spot with 3422 with her 1166 third series.

The top 3 finishers in this squad took the first three positions in the overall qualifying standings. Liza Clutario of Philippines, who led the earlier squad, finished fourth with 3324 while Finland's Krista Pollanen completd the top 5.

The women will conclude the qualifying rounds with their fourth block tomorrow afternoon and evening after the men finish their final block in the morning. The top 24 women and top 24 men will advance to the next stage.
